Here’s some highlights of what we've done this year:

• We surveyed 400 of the most marginalized communities in Tempe about how the city delegates funding, compiled the results in a report we got in front of the Mayor and City Council to influence the budget. 
• Through our budget activism in Tempe we won: 1 crisis response worker, 5 mental health counselors for middle school and an energy equity specialist in sustainability.
• In Tempe we changed city council processes to increase our ability to be heard, one way is by changing public comment at city council to the beginning of city council meetings.
• We also held a townhall and brought the City Attorney out, who committed to creating a process for community to add to the agenda and hear back from their council members.
• We traveled to Seattle and Oakland to learn about restorative justice and pre-court diversion programs. 
• We received trainings on how to hold circles to both build community and resolve conflict. 
• Black Folx Rock is a space where Black people can learn about rock climbing and explore the outdoors with other Black folx. 
• We partnered with Free Arts for Abused Children to create a healing arts workshop for girls in foster care.
• Freedom Schools creates curriculum to build community through a Black queer feminist lens.
• We have a youth book club which is a safe space for young Black children to learn about their culture.
• We built a support group for victims of police brutality and their families.
• Through the We Keep Us Safe Initiative, our security coalition is ensuring the safety of our communities without police.​
